High Quality Ground Posts

To permanently mount your dovecote you should use a ground post. Our posts are substantial, high quality pressure treated 90 mm square, with planed surfaces and eased edges making them easy to handle and pleasing to the eye. These posts are manufactured for the pergola industry and are NOT rough sawn and dipped fence posts!
Our posts are 3m in length and come pre-machined to slot directly into the socket on the base of all of our dovecotes. Unique to Fantail Dovecotes is the ability to rotate the dovecote on the post after it is solidly secured in the ground. This enables you to perfectly set the angle of your dovecote for the best view before finally securing it. Posts should ideally be set in concrete and full installation details are provided.

The 'OAKRIDGE' Free-Standing Mounting Post
Note: If you wish to supply your own post it should be 75mm square to fit directly into the socket on the dovecote. If you wish to use a more substantial post (90 or 100mm square recommended) you will need to machine it to fit.
The 'OAKRIDGE' Free-Standing Mounting Post
For situations requiring a free-standing, non-permanent installation we
can provide the 'OAKRIDGE' stand. This is a very substantial and heavy
free-standing base and post designed to carry any of the range of
dovecotes and is ideal where the permanent installation of a ground
post is either impractical or unacceptable (such as on a patio). The OAKRIDGE is constructed with the same high grade timber that we use for the posts and stands approximately 2225 mm high (87.5") resulting in a dovecote base height of approximately 1825 mm (72").

The DOVECOTE-DINER provides an ideal feeding area not just for doves but for all types of birds and will help attract a wide variety of visitors to your garden. Fitting directly onto the main ground post or OAKRIDGE stand the DINER benefits from a perfectly sheltered location and also enhances the appearance of any of our dovecotes.
Built with the same materials as our dovecotes the DINER is completely waterproof and maintenance-free. Available in hexagonal design for the MILAN and MADISON dovecotes and octagonal design for the MONTANA and COLUMBIA models. The DINER feeder measures approximately 500 mm x 200 mm (20" x 8").
